South Minneapolis Residence
The kitchen and breakfast areas of this home were small and inadequate for this young, growing family and the need to replace aging appliances was the driving force behind this south Minneapolis kitchen remodeling project. The existing breakfast nook was demolished and a 286' addition built in its place. Removing the west wall of the family room to the new kitchen and installing a load-bearing steel beam for support created an open space plan. The center island with support columns and a raised oak countertop provide functional transition between the new kitchen and the existing family room. Features of this ROMA award-winning kitchen include custom cabinetry with inset drawers and doors, honed 'St. Cecilia' granite countertops, and state-of-the-art appliances.
