Master Bedroom Suite Renovation
The bay window of this master bedroom was removed and this 130 square foot sitting room/library was added as part of a two-story addition. The design intent of the room was to provide a quiet place or “sanctuary” for the parents to escape from the commotion of an active family life. The peaked ceiling, along with the large expanse of windows, creates a feeling of space and light. A built-in window seat and cherry bookcases flank the room, and provide space to display the owners’ books and treasures. The subtle arch with classic columns was constructed as a defining element between the two spaces yet connects them. The cherry crown moulding further ties the bedroom and sitting room together. The bright yellow faux painted walls and exotic bird mural painted on the ceiling help create the desired feeling of peace and happiness in this renovated Lake Minnetonka master bedroom suite.
