Minneapolis Bungalow Kitchen
This south Minneapolis bungalow, built in 1918, was remodeled to improve its functionality and restore its original “Arts and Crafts” style charm. The existing 88 sq. ft. kitchen was completely gutted and the opening between the dining room and kitchen was enlarged to give the small kitchen a more spacious feeling. To restore the “Arts and Crafts” character, new custom oak cabinetry, baseboards and casings were fabricated to match the home’s original woodwork. The front of the 27” SubZero refrigerator and Asko dishwasher were camouflaged by installing custom oak panels, designed to look like cabinet doors and drawers. Oak hardwood flooring, matching the hardwood flooring in the dining room, was installed. To provide storage, custom oak cabinets designed to match the home’s original built-in buffet were installed on each side of the opening to this remodeled Minneapolis bungalow kitchen.
