Woodland Master Bath
The owners of this Woodland home wanted to remodel their 99 sq. ft. master bathroom to modernize its function -- yet create a feeling of sophistication and Old World charm. They were also very specific about the elements to incorporate: a pedestal tub, an open shower and a single sink. The challenge was how to blend contemporary function with traditional design.

The small room is enhanced by the placement of a pedestal tub at an angle in one corner between two windows framing views of the lake. In the opposite corner is a separate shower enclosure. Tumbled marble tile wainscot encompasses the room and continues through the shower enclosure providing design continuity.

The colors of the room are light and monochromatic. Interest is added through the use of textures: Venetian plaster, tumbled marble tiles and crown mouldings. All design elements work together to create a very functional bathroom with a feel of Old World elegance.
